Ahead of the start of the 2023 NFL season, the Indianapolis Colts dealt with some internal drama, with star running back Jonathan Taylor unhappy that the team didn’t see eye-to-eye with him in contract negotiations, so he demanded to be traded.
That trade demand didn’t sit well with longtime owner Jim Irsay, who adamantly came out publicly and said that there was no way Taylor would be traded and that he would honor his current contract with the team.
That stance changed pretty quickly as, at some point, the team gave Taylor and his representation permission to seek a trade, with the Miami Dolphins seemingly being the most interested team in acquiring his services.
Unfortunately for Taylor, no trade came to fruition, as the team’s self-imposed deadline for a deal came and went without an agreement being made.
Since then, Taylor’s future has been in limbo, but now there seems to be some traction on the star back returning to the field for the Colts after he was a full participant in practice on Wednesday ahead of Week 5, according to Ari Meirov.

If Taylor’s participation in practice is any indication, it seems as though he could get back on the field for Indianapolis sooner rather than later.
It’s uncertain whether Taylor wants to be still traded or how the relationship is right now between the star and the team.
Fortunately for Indianapolis, the dynamic duo of rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson and star running back Taylor would be something to see and incredibly tough to stop for opposing teams.
