The Green Bay Packers over-exceeded expectations in 2023.
Not only did they have a record over .500 in Jordan Love’s first year as a starter, but they ended up winning a playoff game.
Despite this success, the Packers are slated to make a lot of changes to their team in 2024.
One such change will be with their defense, as they have hired Jeff Hafley as their newest defensive coordinator.
Fans weren’t necessarily aware of Hafley before he was hired, but if his early comments are an indication of what kind of coach he will be, Hafley should be quickly embraced by the fanbase.
He spoke at a Packers press conference, where he indicated that he wants the defense to “play with their hair on fire.”

Hafley doesn’t just want to come quietly into this Packers defense.
He wants to make his presence felt and hopes his mentality will transfer to the players under him.
The Packers were league average when it came to points allowed per game last season, a mark Hafley surely wants to improve on.
If the Packers want any chances of going on a deeper playoff run in 2024, a stronger defense is a must.
That was the formula that the San Francisco 49ers tapped into last year, which helped them make their way to the Super Bowl.
The Packers are one of the youngest teams in the NFL, and while they might have a long way to go, Hafley seems to be a coach who can help them achieve their goals.
