Last year, wide receiver Mecole Hardman became a free agent after spending the first four seasons of his NFL career as a member of the Kanas City Chiefs.
Eventually, Hardman wound up signing a deal with the New York Jets, and with Aaron Rodgers as his new quarterback, the former Chiefs pass-catcher had high expectations for the 2023 season.
But, as we know, Rodgers tore his Achilles in Week 1, and the Jets’ 2023 campaign immediately crumbled after that.
Hardman was actually traded back to Kansas City this past October, and it turned out to be a good decision, as, earlier this month, he helped the Chiefs win Super Bowl LVIII by hauling in the game-winning touchdown catch in overtime.
The 25-year-old wide receiver is a free agent again this offseason, and he’s unsure if he will be re-signing with Kansas City, but in a recent interview with NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano, Hardman revealed that a return to the Jets is something that definitely won’t be happening (via Andrew Siciliano on Twitter).

After signing a one-year deal with New York last offseason, Hardman ended up appearing in five of the Jets’ first six games of the 2023 campaign.
However, he was only on the field for a total of 28 offensive snaps during those five games, and unsurprisingly, he only managed to accumulate a total of one catch for six yards in a New York uniform.
It was a match that clearly wasn’t going to work, and luckily for Hardman, the Jets and Chiefs were able to agree to a trade that sent the veteran wide receiver back to Kansas City in the middle of the 2023 season.
