The Pittsburgh Steelers will head into the NFL offseason with the top priority being to fix the offensive side of the football, as the team seemed hopeless offensively during the 2023 campaign and had to go as far as firing offensive coordinator Matt Canada during the regular season in order to address the problem.
Even after parting ways with Canada, who seemed to be more of a fall guy than anything at this point, the team still couldn’t get it done offensively, which led to a lot of questions about what the team should do and what quarterback should be leading the way under center.
Ahead of the 2023 campaign, the Steelers made it clear that Kenny Pickett was the team’s starter moving forward, with Pittsburgh having a lot of faith in the young kid and high hopes he could fill Ben Roethlisberger’s shoes as the longtime starter.
With the quarterback position being the hot topic of discussion for the Steelers heading into the offseason, star defensive tackle Cam Heyward has a message for all those who are chiming in on the subject, calling out all the “couch GMs” and noting that if it were up to fans, the team would have 15 different quarterbacks.
The couch GM’s are out!!! If they have it their way our retire and we will have 15 different QBs. Man you gotta love Steeler fans for the passion. pic.twitter.com/ZwNrBjjqzL

Clearly, Heyward has already had enough of all the chatter and superfans on social media who think they know everything, but this is only just the beginning, as this will last all offseason until the team makes a move for a veteran or announces it’s Pickett’s job to lose.
Pittsburgh has already been linked to superstar Russell Wilson and could kick the tires on veteran Kirk Cousins, as they’ll both be available over the offseason and would instantly be an upgrade.
