One of the NFL’s most iconic franchises, the Pittsburgh Steelers, have been competitive for years but have yet to find the right mix of talent to get them back to the Super Bowl.
Since Ben Roethlisberger retired, the Steelers have cycled through several different starting quarterbacks and none have looked like the future at the position.
Second-year signal-caller Kenny Pickett showed some improvement during the 2023 NFL season, but was largely unimpressive.
Pickett was knocked out with a high-ankle sprain toward the end of the regular season and was replaced by Mason Rudolph, who breathed some life into the team’s anemic passing game.
However, Rudolph’s limitations were on full display in the Wild Card round against the Buffalo Bills where he struggled to move the football downfield.
Pittsburgh may need to address the quarterback position in the offseason and they have several directions they could go in, via PFF.

The Chicago Bears will likely move on from Justin Fields because they own the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and he would make for an intriguing fit with the Steelers.
However, the franchise could also go the veteran route and sign either Russell Wilson or Ryan Tannehill, who will both be looking for new homes.
There is also the slight possibility that the Steelers either trade up in the draft to grab one of the class’s best prospects or go after another free agent such as Kirk Cousins.
Regardless of which path Pittsburgh takes, they need a better quarterback to get over the hump.
