During his first two NFL seasons in 2020 and 2021 as a member of the Dallas Cowboys, CeeDee Lamb put up some solid numbers, but they were nothing to rave about.
Well, a switch clearly flipped in 2022 and 2023, as Lamb has been one of the best wide receivers in the entire league during the last two seasons.
In fact, PFF recently named Lamb their choice for the NFL’s most valuable wide receiver from the 2023 season (via PFF on Twitter).

In 17 games with the Cowboys last season, Lamb finished with 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns, all single-season career-highs for the fourth-year wide receiver.
Unfortunately, Dallas was unable to take advantage of Lamb’s ultra-impressive performance during the 2023 campaign, as their season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs after suffering a surprising loss to the Green Bay Packers.
This year, the star wide receiver is going to be looking to cash in and sign a lucrative contract extension with the Cowboys.
Lamb’s performances during the last two seasons will certainly make it easier for Dallas to commit a truckload of money to the receiver, but an agreement on a deal is never really a guarantee until the contract is actually signed.
But if the Cowboys want to continue to strive for a championship each year, then keeping their No. 1 wide receiver around seems like it would be beneficial for the team in their efforts to accomplish their goals.
Perhaps Dallas and Lamb won’t agree to an extension this year, but the chances seem pretty good that he will be making a lot more money before the start of the 2024 regular season.
