The Dallas Cowboys are coming off an impressive year offensively.
Mike McCarthy took over play-calling duties, and he made the most of Dak Prescott’s talents to help him have the best season of his career.
Prescott was an MVP candidate, and CeeDee Lamb may have bene the best wide receiver in the game, even ahead of Tyreek Hill.
Their running game, however, was far from impressive.
Tony Pollard failed to prove that he could take Ezekiel Elliott’s role for good and become a dominant back.
Considering that, former NFL QB Robert Griffin III believes the Cowboys should pursue an upgrade at that position by making a run at Saquon Barkley.
“The Quad God is still one of the most dynamic players in the NFL in the open field with the ball in his hands,” Griffin said.
The @dallascowboys should sign Saquan Barkley. Saquads is a 3 down back coming off a down year, who brings flash and SUBSTANCE with his game. The player-turned-analyst states that Barkley is still one of the most dynamic players in the game; he’s just coming off a down year.
Truth be told, it was almost impossible to get anything going with the New York Giants’ offense in 2023.
Still, he was also hurt during a stretch of the season, and his injury-proneness has always been a red flag.
Whatever the case, with the Giants likely to let him walk away, joining a divisional rival would be very appealing for Barkley.
He felt disrespected and lowballed by the team over and over, and while he wanted to stay in the Big Apple for the remainder of his career, that just seems unlikely at this point.
Jerry Jones stated that he would go all-in in the offseason, and making a run at one of the most explosive offensive players in the game could be a step in the right direction.
