Spring baseball is the best.
It’s the first taste of competitive baseball fans have watched since late October or early November, depending on the case.
However, since there are so many minor leaguers invited to camp and playing games, you can also watch some baffling plays and errors in spring training.
The Detroit Tigers sure committed the ugliest (perhaps even the most hilarious depending on your perspective) errors of the spring season, and we are less than a week into action.
You be the judge:
“It’s not even March and the Tigers might already have the most embarrassing play of the 2024 season. Kinda impressive when you think about it,” @CalicoJoeMLB tweeted.

The play took place on Sunday, as the Tigers faced the Tampa Bay Rays.
Rays minor leaguer Kameron Misner hit a high fly ball to shallow center field.
The ball found grass instead of a glove, between not one, two, nor three, but four Tigers fielders: the second baseman, the shortstop, the center fielder, and the right fielder.
Not only that, but the shortstop accidentally hit the ball and sent it to deep right field as he fell to the ground.
Since the right fielder was in as he also sought after the ball, there was no one to catch it and throw it to the infield in time to prevent Misner from scoring.
It was just one of those plays that we can’t believe happened even if we watch it and watch it over and over again.
