Ahead of the 2022 NFL season, the Las Vegas Raiders decided to make a drastic change to the coaching staff and the front office, with longtime owner Mark Davis embracing the Patriot Way by bringing in Josh McDaniels to be the new head coach and Dave Ziegler as the new general manager.
At the time, the Raiders seemed to make the right moves, with most believing that the storied franchise could turn it around with McDaniels and Ziegler leading the way.
Unfortunately, the regime change turned out to be a disaster, with McDaniels quickly losing the locker room and Ziegler unable to make the right moves to put the most talented team on the gridiron for the Raiders.
Davis eventually decided enough was enough and chose to stop the bleeding in Las Vegas by parting ways with Ziegler and McDaniels, with the former New England Patriots duo unable to right the ship.
With the Raiders moving on and embracing Antonio Pierce as the new head coach, McDaniels remains unemployed, while Ziegler has found his new home in the league by joining the New Orleans Saints, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.
Sources tell @CBSSports former Raiders GM Dave Ziegler is joining the New Orleans Saints in an advisory role through the 2024 NFL draft. A 3x Super Bowl champ in personnel, Ziegler will assist the Saints over the next 2 months.

Although Ziegler has accepted only an advisory role with the Saints, he is lucky he was able to find a new opportunity as quickly as he did after so publicly flaming out with the Raiders.
It’ll be interesting to see how Ziegler can bounce after the failed stint in Las Vegas, as he’ll have an opportunity to prove himself once again in New Orleans.
