The 2024 NFL Draft is expected to be rich in potential-laden quarterbacks, and outside of the University of Southern California’s Caleb Williams, there will be several signal-callers who could be very good at the next level.
As usual, there are a number of teams that need or could use an upgrade at that position, but only so many teams will have a high enough draft pick they could use on a promising QB.
The New York Giants will have the No. 6 pick, and while they may possibly have the opportunity to draft someone such as Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye if they’re very lucky, they also have other needs throughout their roster.
Jordan Ranaan, who covers the Giants, said there’s a possibility New York makes a play in order to get their hands on a quality quarterback in the draft.
“I’ve been told by multiple sources if the situation presents itself correctly, the Giants would seriously look at the QB position,” Ranaan said.

Daniel Jones, the team’s incumbent quarterback, hasn’t shown much improvement as a passer in his five NFL seasons, and as Ranaan pointed out, he has been injury-prone.
He tore his ACL in 2023, which limited him to just six games, and that injury played a role in the team finishing 30th in points scored and 31st in passing yards.
The Giants have other pressing needs though — star running back Saquon Barkley could leave next month in free agency, and they need a legitimate threat at wide receiver, not to mention help on their offensive line.
Many are now questioning their decision last offseason to give Jones a lucrative contract extension instead of giving it to Barkley, who is the team’s only bona fide threat on offense.
