The Arizona Cardinals finished the 2023 season with a 4-13 record and will have the No. 4 overall pick in the upcoming draft.
Fans and analysts alike have tried to predict what the Cardinals will do with this pick, especially with the amount of quarterback talent in the class.
The Cardinals did ink Kyler Murray to a long-term contract extension ahead of the 2022 season, but with his injury history in mind, there has been a wonder if they will try to move on from him.
While there are still two months to go until the draft, head coach Jonathan Gannon has made his plans abundantly clear.
According to Gannon via a recent press conference shared by Johnny Venerable, “The game will go through number one.”

Gannon isn’t backing down from declaring Murray as the team’s starter.
The organization identified him as a cornerstone piece of their offense when he signed this extension, and it doesn’t look like they are going to waver from that.
Gannon has a lot of positions to worry about over the next several months, with one of the most pressing being wide receiver.
Thankfully for him and the Cardinals, there are many top receiving prospects in this draft class, including Marvin Harrison Jr.
Harrison could be on the board when the Cardinals pick at No. 4, which could solve a lot of their woes at the position.
Murray would have a new top target to throw to, which might help any concerns fans have about his abilities.
