The Indianapolis Colts are coming off a season that turned out to be a little better than expected, with the team finishing the year with a record of 9-8 and incredibly close to clinching a playoff spot in the AFC.
Even though the Colts lost promising young quarterback Anthony Richardson only a few games into the 2023 NFL season, Indianapolis was able to get by with veteran Gardner Minshew leading the way, who ultimately earned a Pro Bowl nod.
With the Colts finally having something to build on in Indianapolis with a potentially bright future ahead, the team will have a chance to improve it’s roster during the NFL offseason in hopes of inching closer to a playoff berth.
One of those decisions the team has to make during the offseason is what to do with star wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr, which general manager Chris Ballard seems to feel is in the team’s long-term future.
Ballard was asked about Pittman’s future in Indianapolis and seems intent on getting a deal done with the 26-year-old wideout via the team’s Twitter account.
“We’ll work hard to get a deal done,” Ballard said.

Pittman is coming off his best season in the NFL, as he caught a career-high 109 catches for a career-high 1,152 receiving yards to go along with four touchdowns.
Although there will be a lot of talent available at the wide receiver position this year, both in free agency and in the NFL Draft, the Colts do seem to want to keep Pittman around and may be willing to use a franchise tag on him in order to keep him in Indianapolis.
