The new regime for the Washington Commanders has a lot of work to do to rebuild the team and get them back to competing for a playoff spot.
The Commanders installed a new head coach in Dan Quinn and a new general manager in Adam Peters.
Quinn and Peters will be challenged to revive football in Washington as the franchise has struggled to find it’s footing for years.
The 2024 NFL Draft is a massive inflection point for the organization as they hold the No. 2 overall pick.
The Commanders sorely need a quarterback and are in a position to take one of Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, or Drake Maye.
However, Peters didn’t rule out making a run at the No. 1 overall pick via Peter Schrager of Fox.
“I think we’d do anything to make our team better,” Peters said. “So you trade up, trade down, had a lot of really good conversations with a lot of GMs this week, really productive so we’re gonna look through every avenue to make our team better.”

The Chicago Bears hold the first overall pick and are widely expected to take Williams, though Washington could offer an enticing package for them to move down one spot.
Williams is considered a generational-level prospect, though that shouldn’t take away from Daniels or Maye who would be No. 1 picks in most other draft classes.
Peters knows that having a good quarterback is the foundation for any successful franchise, so it’ll be interesting to see how he approaches day one of the draft once it rolls around in April.
