The Kansas City Chiefs were able to repeat as Super Bowl champions and did it more so with their defense rather than their offense.
Since the Chiefs dealt away Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, they’ve been cycling through various options at the wide receiver position to fill in the gaps.
Travis Kelce cleans up plenty of the missing receiver talent, but the 2023 NFL season showed that even Patrick Mahomes needs help offensively.
Players like Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Kadarius Toney were ineffective for most of the year, though Rashee Rice emerged as the alpha of the group despite being a rookie.
However, adding talented receivers has to be the No. 1 priority for Kansas City and they reportedly plan to do just that via Michael Silver of SF Chronicle.
“The Chiefs are definitely getting some receivers, via free agency and the draft, to team with Rice. This year was an anomaly,” Silver reported.

Everyone in the league expects the Chiefs to make some sort of splash in free agency or the 2024 NFL Draft.
Mike Evans is reportedly going to test the waters in free agency, but the more likely route is Kansas City uses it’s first-round pick on one of the receiving prospects.
This year’s class is one of the deepest in years and the Chiefs could luck into adding a difference-maker despite picking last in the first round.
Players like Keon Coleman, Adonai Mitchell, and Ladd McConkey should be available for Kansas City when they’re on the clock and it’ll be worth monitoring how they address the position.
