The 2023 NFL regular season came to an end prematurely for veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings, as the four-time Pro Bowler went down with a season-ending Achilles injury that put the rest of his career in doubt.
Fortunately, even though an Achilles injury can end careers in the NFL, it seems as though Cousins is making a spectacular recovery from the severe injury, much like fellow veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets.
That said, Cousins may still have some football left in him at 35 years old, but he may have to find another team in order to extend his career in the NFL, with the Vikings seemingly ready to move on.
With the Vikings potentially looking to get younger at quarterback, Cousins will be a free agent who might get a lot of looks from teams that are in need of some leadership under center.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, one of those teams could be the Atlanta Falcons, who have made it clear they intend to upgrade the quarterback position during the NFL offseason.
Kirk Cousins is the most valuable player on the market despite an Achilles injury he suffered in October.

Although Cousins isn’t in the elite class of NFL quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, or Lamar Jackson, the veteran quarterback would be a solid upgrade for the Falcons at quarterback, with the team intent on moving on from Desmond Ridder.
As long as Cousins is the same player and not severely impacted by the Achilles injury, he’d be an ideal addition to the Falcons while potentially giving the team a chance to be the team to beat in the NFC South for the next few years.
