The Chicago Bears were supposed to be one of the most improved teams in the league last season, but that wasn’t the case.
Matt Eberflus left plenty to be desired again, and while their defense picked up the slack late in the season, their offensive woes were just too big to overcome.
Now, they will have the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft for the second year in a row, and all signs point to them using it this time.
They also have the No. 9 selection, so they could have two of the best prospects in this class making an immediate impact on their team next season.
Former backup QB Chase Daniels predicted they could have the deadliest rookie duo in the league next season.
Talking on the NFL Network, Daniel said they could take Caleb Williams first-overall, and then Washington star WR Rome Udonze with the ninth pick.
The @ChicagoBears are going to take Caleb Williams #1 overall.
Rome Odunze at #9 would give them the scariest rookie duo & it’s not even close. It makes all the sense in the world… pic.twitter.com/zw64HsU9Q9

He raved about Udonze’s physicality and refined route-running skills, and while he acknowledges that he’s not the most athletic wide receiver in his class, he’s got an elite ability to make adjustments and win 50/50 balls, not to mention outstanding speed.
The Bears need help all over their offense, and they could definitely use another wide receiver alongside D.J. Moore.
Daniel believes these two rookies could make them a legitimate threat out of the NFC North, and while it might be early to make such a prediction and we don’t even know what they’ll do, it’s not that big of a hot take.
