With the 24th overall pick in the NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys have the luxury of being a bit flexible since they don’t have a ton of glaring holes to fill.
While the wide receiver position might not be the most immediate need, team legend Michael Irvin has publicly endorsed one of the draft’s most intriguing prospects at the position and would love to see him in Dallas.
Florida State prospect Keon Coleman posted a video on Instagram of him chopping it up with Irvin at the NFL Combine, and Irvin made it very clear to Jerry Jones that he would love to see Coleman “with a star on his helmet.”

Dallas currently sits slightly over the cap by about $4 million and has Brandin Cooks and Michael Gallup still under contract for 2024, so the best option to find another big weapon to slot in alongside CeeDee Lamb might come via the draft.
It’s just an Instagram video, but the idea of Coleman in this offense is intriguing.
Coleman is 6’4″ and put up 11 touchdowns this past season at Florida State.
He would provide a needed big body that can make tough contested catches in the red zone, which is something this offense lacks even though Dak Prescott just led the league with 27 touchdown passes in the red zone, according to Pro Football Reference.
Even though he led the league in red zone TDs, Dak had just a 58.65 percent completion percentage inside the 20. That’s where a Coleman addition becomes worth the investment.
Left tackle and running back are the more obvious needs this offseason, but Coleman lining up alongside Lamb is fun to dream about.
