With the NFL Scouting Combine already in the books, the first round of the NFL Draft is starting to take shape.
Most scouts are already locked in on the top-four prospects, with the likes of Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and Marvin Harrison Jr. as the likeliest candidates.
However, things get kind of blurry later, especially when it comes to the second-tier quarterback prospects in this QB-rich class.
Even so, ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler believes it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see Michigan star J.J. McCarthy crashing the top 10 (via Dov Kleiman).

“I still think teams are higher on Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy than a lot of people on the outside think, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him picked in the top 10.”… https://t.co/r75WQxuBwB pic.twitter.com/RDYxSwMnDQ

Following the combine, Fowler reported that multiple teams are actually higher on McCarthy than most people on the outside think.
McCarthy was quite solid in his tenure with the Michigan Wolverines.
His work ethic and determination to get better and be coached have drawn rave reviews, and he’s coming off winning a National Championship.
Then again, he does look like a bit of a work in progress, and his upside might not be as high as that of Maye, Williams, and Daniels.
The Atlanta Falcons and New York Giants could be players for him in the top 10 if he falls right into their laps, but other teams, such as the Las Vegas Raiders or Minnesota Vikings, could also look to trade up to get their hands on him.
At the end of the day, it’s always hard to make predictions about these kinds of stuff, but don’t be shocked if he keeps climbing up most big boards leading to the big day.
