The Los Angeles Dodgers beating the Colorado Rockies is something we will see a lot of not only in 2024, but also in the foreseeable future.
It happened on Sunday, in spring training: LA took the win with a 7-4 score and are now 9-2 in Cactus League play.
The primary takeaway from the game is that Shohei Ohtani is pretty good at baseball.
Not only that, but he is also looking healthier than ever, which is the most important thing for the Dodgers after elbow and oblique injuries robbed him of the month of September in 2023.
On Sunday, the Japanese phenom went 3-for-3 at the plate, with an extra-base hit: a triple.
He scored twice and drove in two runs.
The Rockies just didn’t have an answer for him, and this will likely be a common occurrence.
A perfect day at the plate for Shohei Ohtani!

MLB posted a video of one of his hits, a well-struck ball to center field.
The reigning AL MVP will now try to win his first NL MVP award.
He is now entering a tough league with stars like Ronald Acuña Jr., Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Corbin Carroll.
When he is fully healthy, however, there is no one like him.
The fact he won’t pitch this year while recovering from elbow surgery might invite his competitors to have more of a chance to take MVP honors in the National League.
That doesn’t mean he will just give up and not fight, though: we are talking about one of the best players in the history of the game.
He is healthy and ready to be a full-time hitter, though, and intends to make every at-bat count.
