On Monday, the Denver Broncos made it official that they’ve decided to move on from veteran quarterback Russell Wilson after two seasons with the storied NFL franchise.
Although there’s been some speculation about whether the Broncos would make this move, especially after benching Wilson toward the end of the regular season, Denver believes it is time to move on and head in another direction with head coach Sean Payton leading the way.
Fortunately for Wilson, he’ll almost certainly have the opportunity to continue his playing career elsewhere as a starter, with there expected to be no shortage of suitors for his services once he is officially a free agent and able to sign where he wants.
With Wilson officially getting the news from the team that he will be released during this NFL offseason, the veteran quarterback took to social media to say goodbye to the avid Broncos fanbase, which was a classy move by the nine-time Pro Bowler.

With Wilson set to become a free agent and able to control his fate moving forward, the Pittsburgh Steelers seem like his most likely destination at this point, with the team desperately wanting some stability and improved play at the quarterback position.
Along with the Steelers, a few other teams could show interest in his services like the Las Vegas Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, and Atlanta Falcons, as all of these teams will be looking for an upgrade at the quarterback position and will take to free agency or the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft in order to address that need.
