The Los Angeles Chargers are looking to start a new era with Jim Harbaugh as head coach, and that could mean they will look considerably different when training camp starts several months from now.
They have some holes on the roster to fill, and they do need to get under the salary cap.
On Tuesday, they announced a move when they tweeted that they had released linebacker Eric Kendricks.

Kendricks started 14 of the 15 games he appeared in during the 2023 season, and he was second on the team in tackles while adding six passes defended, 3.5 sacks, seven quarterback hits, and seven tackles for loss.
According to Spotrac, this move will save Los Angeles $6.5 million of cap space.
They still need to trim over $18 million in salary in order to get under the cap.
Harbaugh’s arrival seems to signal a shift in philosophy for the Chargers, especially on offense, as they’re expected to run the football more and address their offensive line, which features tackle Rashawn Slater but needs improvement elsewhere.
They have the No. 5 pick in next month’s draft, and people are speculating they will use it on a right tackle, but it is also possible they use it to select wide receiver Malik Nabers.
Nabers had a sensational 2023 season with Louisiana State University, posting 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns while finishing his career there with 3,003 yards and 21 touchdowns in three years.
He is a true speed threat, something the Bolts badly need, especially given the fact that they have one of the NFL’s better and more physically gifted quarterbacks in Justin Herbert.
