The Dallas Cowboys cycle has been the same for years now.
They make some moves in the offseason, the fans get hyped up ahead of the campaign, and they win a lot of games in the regular season.
Then, just when it feels like they’re finally ready to get over the hump, they crumble under the pressure.
That has fueled a discussion about whether this team has an identity and culture issue.
However, that’s not the issue here, at least not for former NFL player Ryan Clark.
Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, he claimed that the Cowboys have a sense of entitlement because of how much media attention they get.
He believes that entitlement stands in the way of them getting the job done when it actually counts.
“It’s not that they don’t have a culture that can’t foster winning. It’s that they have an entitlement that can’t foster consistency in the biggest moments,” Clark said.

The Cowboys are always a media sensation; that’s just the way it is.
They’re all over sports shows because they’re a popular team, and as such, the fans will tune in, and their detractors will look to take them down.
There’s a big responsibility that comes with playing for a team like the Dallas Cowboys.
Then again, the team needs to do a better job of finding and developing the hard-nosed characters that can live up to that responsibility.
They’re too big of a franchise to be this unsuccessful.
Then again, all fingers will point at Jerry Jones, as he’s been the sole person responsible for taking the franchise to where it is nowadays, for better or worse, and he’s always done things his way.
