The Dallas Cowboys’ decision to sign Dak Prescott to a contract extension should be an easy one.
Nonetheless, it could also be a controversial one.
Prescott has always been a polarizing figure, and while some argue that he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the game, others are not so sure.
His well-documented meltdowns and shortcomings in the playoffs have raised doubts about his ability to lead the team back to the Super Bowl.
On the other hand, they don’t have anyone else to get the job done right now.
Nonetheless, former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson believes that Prescott deserves to get paid.
Talking on Undisputed, he stated that it’s not like the Cowboys are stuck with him right now.
“Dak Prescott deserves his money!” Johnson said.

Johnson believes that Prescott could demand even more money next season or just walk away as a free agent if they don’t get a deal done right now.
That would mean they pretty much drafted and developed a quarterback for someone else, which would obviously be a bad look.
Truth be told, Dak is not to blame for the state of the quarterback market.
He’s going to get what he’s supposed to get, which is close to $60 million or even $60 million a year.
Whether he’s vastly overpaid or not will be a whole different debate, and it is a fact that he has proven that he cannot be trusted in big moments.
Then again, the Cowboys don’t have a better choice right now.
