It’s been a tough start to the season for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Once Super Bowl hopefuls, Zac Taylor’s team has been hampered by poor O-line play and Joe Burrow’s calf injury.
The former No. 1 pick has struggled to move around and has looked quite limited since the beginning of the season, which is why several people — including Ja’Marr Chase — have urged him to sit until he’s back to full strength.
The Bengals are currently 1-3 and face a must-win matchup vs. the Arizona Cardinals.
And according to former Super Bowl champion Willie Colon, a loss to the Cardinals would pretty much end their season, which is why they should consider shutting Burrow down for the year.
In the latest edition of The Carton Show, Colon talked about the importance of protecting your franchise player, and put a lot of blame on the offensive line for not doing their job.
“This is must-win. If they don’t win, there’s nothing to go for and you have to sit Joe Burrow.”

Craig Carton, on the other hand, believes Burrow just put his entire team in a corner by acknowledging that Sunday’s clash was a ‘must-win game,’ as now, they would pretty much be saying that their season is over if they don’t get the job done.
The Cardinals were projected to finish the season with the worst record in the league, but they’ve been fairly competitive at stretches.
The Bengals shouldn’t find much trouble getting past them on paper, but we already know that paper doesn’t win football games.
Even if they win, it’s still going to be an uphill battle for Cincinnati, especially if Burrow isn’t at his best.
