NFL free agency is in full effect and there are so many names on the move it’s hard to keep track.
Former NFL QB Robert Griffin III showed some love to one GM who has been particularly active thus far.
RGIII said he loves how Adam Peters is “cooking” for the Washington Commanders so far.
Absolutely LOVE how Adam Peters is cooking for the @Commanders this offseason. Improved O-Line play was ESSENTIAL, so he signed Pro Bowl Center Tyler Biadasz and a tough son of a biscuit eating bulldog in Guatd Nick Allegretti. Then added TD maker Austin Ekeler. Sam Howell got sacked a horrifying 65 times last season, which was the most in the league.
Offensive line was a clear need for this team, and Peters has quickly brought in strong reinforcements in Pro Bowl center Tyler Biadasz for three years and $30 million, as well as 3-time Super Bowl champion guard Nick Allegretti for three years and $16 million.
Biadasz is only 26 and Allegretti is 27, giving the Commanders two young and proven anchors in the middle of their offensive line for years to come.
Allegretti left Kansas City because he wanted a chance to be a full-time starter, and he will now have a chance to do that for the Commanders.
Washington also added Austin Ekeler to its backfield for just two years and $11 million after losing Antonio Gibson to New England in free agency.
Ekeler on paper is a strong complement to Brian Robinson in the backfield to go along with the beefed-up offensive line.
Additionally, Washington added Dorance Armstrong for three years and $45 million coming off 16 sacks over his last two years with the Cowboys, and also brought in linebacker Frankie Luvu from the Panthers for three years and $36 million.
Tight end Zach Ertz and quarterback Marcus Mariota have also signed with Washington, who has been one of the busiest teams in free agency so far.
