After a brilliant performance during the 2023 NFL regular season, the Dallas Cowboys headed into the NFL playoffs as the second seed in the NFC and had high hopes of finally being able to win another Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Unfortunately, in classic Cowboys fashion, everything came crashing down in the first round of the postseason, with the upstart Green Bay Packers coming out of nowhere and crushing Dak Prescott and company in order to advance to the Divisional round.
With the Cowboys flaming out in the playoffs in spectacular fashion, it was thought that the team might be aggressive in NFL free agency this year in order to address specific areas of need on both sides of the football.
However, the Cowboys have been eerily quiet now that the legal tampering period has gotten underway, as Dallas hasn’t been in on any big signing thus far and doesn’t seem intent on making any substantial moves.
One major move the Cowboys were expected to make was upgrading the running back position, with Tony Pollard expected to leave the team in free agency, and there was no shortage of talented running backs to choose from, like Josh Jacobs, Austin Ekeler, Saquon Barkley, and Derrick Henry.
Unfortunately for Dallas, the team lost Pollard to the Tennessee Titans, while all those star backs have agreed to sign elsewhere.
With the Cowboys not making any moves, the team’s chances of winning it all next season have taken a blow, according to DraftKings Sportsbook via NBC Sports Bet.

Obviously, there’s still a lot of time for the Cowboys to make moves, and it is not beyond the realm of possibility that the team decides to make some trades rather than straight-up signings.
With the Cowboys expected to sign Prescott to a lucrative long-term deal and needing to sign both CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons, Dallas might not be willing to spend more money.
