The Atlanta Falcons just got a lot better.
Raheem Morris will have a legitimate franchise-caliber quarterback in his first year in charge of the team, which is something Arthur Smith never had in his three-year tenure in Georgia.
Kirk Cousins’ arrival significantly raises this team’s ceiling.
As a matter of fact, NFL analyst Chris “Mad Dog” Russo believes the Falcons now have the second-best quarterback in the NFC behind only Matthew Stafford.
In the latest edition of “First Take,” Russo stated that one could make a case for Cousins being No. 2 on that list, adding that the Falcons should be the favorite to win a bad NFC South division now.

The Falcons have three stellar playmakers at skill player positions.
Kyle Pitts could finally be involved in the passing game after being used mostly as a blocker and a decoy, all while Drake London could take a big leap forward.
They also have a potential generational talent in Bijan Robinson, and they should all benefit from finally having some competent quarterback play.
Then again, saying Cousins is the second-best quarterback in the NFC could be a bit of a reach.
Last season alone, Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy were MVP candidates, and Jalen Hurts the year before.
Jordan Love was also one of the best quarterbacks in the game in the second half of the season, and while Cousins brings a much better passer to the table, he also comes with plenty of postseason woes and shortcomings.
