New York Jets superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers has never shied away from speaking his mind, even though most of the time, he should refrain from doing so because it has really started to impact his legacy and the way people think about him.
Even though Rodgers clearly doesn’t care what people think about him and his views on a number of different controversial topics, it is starting to bleed into his NFL career, especially now that he’s playing in the biggest market in professional sports.
Recently, a story surfaced about independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. wanting Rodgers as his vice president and running mate for the 2024 election.
Obviously, this made a lot of headlines as no one knew for sure whether Rodgers would take the invitation well or not, which has prompted Nick Wright of FOX Sports to make the case that the four-time NFL MVP should simply retire via First Things First.
“Aaron Rodgers should just retire,” Wright said. “His heart is not in it. He has other interests.”

Wright argues that Rodgers isn’t fully focused on football and should call it a career, which might be the case moving forward.
However, that won’t happen, as Rodgers still has something left to prove in New York after missing his entire first season with the team except for the first offensive series against the division-rival Buffalo Bills.
Although Rodgers is as unpredictable as they come, so there’s no telling whether he might do something like this.
