The Baltimore Orioles are hoping to build off their incredible 2023 season.
To the surprise of many, the Orioles won 100 games and won the AL East for the first time since 2014.
Baltimore was able to exceed expectations due to the play of their young players.
They have done a great job developing one of the best farm systems in baseball.
It is finally starting to pay dividends.
One of their breakout players from 2023 was starting pitcher Kyle Bradish.
It was his second big league season where he started 30 games and threw 168.2 innings.
He finished the year with a 12-7 record and a 2.83 ERA.
Unfortunately, Bradish may have to take some time until he can debut in 2024.
He suffered an elbow injury this spring and is trying to recover without surgery.
According to Jake Rill, Bradish threw a side session off the mound on Wednesday.
He only threw fastballs but manager Brandon Hyde said Bradish “felt good” afterward.

Bradish finished fourth in AL Cy Young voting last year.
If he misses any time during the regular season it will be a significant loss.
But, the Orioles have found a new ace to help soften the blow.
They traded for Corbin Burnes from the Milwaukee Brewers, and he is one of the best pitchers in baseball and should be in for a career year with the Orioles.
Still, the Orioles will need more than Burnes in their rotation.
To win in the playoffs you need quality pitching.
That troubled the Orioles last postseason.
But, if this roster is healthy for the whole year, they are World Series contenders.
