With NFL free agency now officially underway, the Washington Commanders have been fairly aggressive on the market.
They have brought in dual-threat running back Austin Ekeler while also signing veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner and reuniting him with Dan Quinn, the new Commanders head coach who was his defensive coordinator years ago on the Seattle Seahawks.
On Wednesday, they also retained one of their wide receivers by re-signing Jamison Crowder to a one-year contract, per Josina Anderson.

Crowder, a fourth-round pick in 2015 by Washington, played all 17 games in 2023, but he had just 16 catches for 159 yards and one touchdown in the first season of his second tenure with them.
The previous season, he appeared in just four games for the Buffalo Bills due to an ankle injury.
His best year came in 2016 when he collected 67 receptions for 847 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Commanders have many needs, but they still have lots of salary cap space, and there are still some intriguing free agents available on the market at this point.
In addition, they will have the No. 2 pick in April’s draft, which they will presumably use on a quarterback.
Months ago, the Commanders entered a new era when the controversial Daniel Snyder, who had owned them since 1999, sold them to a group headed by billionaire investor Josh Harris.
They had made the playoffs just six times and won just two postseason games under Snyder’s ownership, but now they could be poised to return to a level of respectability they haven’t enjoyed in decades.
