The Pittsburgh Steelers could have a new quarterback behind center next season.
They signed Russell Wilson to a one-year deal, and he should be a significant upgrade over Kenny Pickett.
The Steelers claim that there will be an open competition for the starting job, and both quarterbacks will start from scratch with a new offensive coordinator.
Then again, former NFL player Damien Woody believes it’s easy to predict who’s going to get the nod.
In the latest edition of ESPN’s Get Up, Woody claimed that Russell Wilson wouldn’t even be there if Kenny Pickett could get the ball to George Pickens or any of his receivers.
He thinks that if Arthur Smith can get Wilson to play like Ryan Tannehill when they worked together with the Tennessee Titans, the Steelers will be just fine.
“You want me to tell you who couldn’t get the ball to George Pickens? … Kenny Pickett couldn’t get that or Russell Wilson wouldn’t be in Pittsburgh right now,” Woody said.

Wilson went 11-19 in two seasons with the Denver Broncos, but he wasn’t the only one to blame for their struggles.
His relationship with Sean Payton wasn’t that great.
Wilson will now look to prove that he’s far from done in this league, and having a future Hall of Famer with a big chip on his shoulder could do wonders for a team.
As for Pickett, the Steelers will hope that he gets to learn behind a proven winner and bona fide veteran, and perhaps this is just the push he needed to be at his best once and for all.
