The Pittsburgh Steelers have always been a competitive team, even when they’re not a contender.
They’ve never had a losing season under coach Mike Tomlin, and that’s despite having a questionable situation at quarterback in recent years.
Tomlin showcased his expertise again last season, as he managed to coach this team to a 10-win season with Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, and Mason Rudolph at quarterback.
As a matter of fact, the Steelers weren’t even that far behind the Buffalo Bills in their playoff loss.
Considering all that, NFL analyst Craig Carton believes the Steelers will be a 12-team next season with Russell Wilson behind center.
“The Pittsburgh Steelers are a 12 win team this year,” Carton said.

Talking on the Carton Show, he claimed that Wilson is clearly at least two games better than Mason Rudolph and Kenny Pickett, and it’s hard to argue with that logic.
The Steelers will also have a better offensive coordinator.
Arthur Smith is a proven offensive mind, and while he didn’t find success as a head coach in Atlanta, he should fare significantly better than Matt Canada.
The Steelers have one of the best pass-rushing duos in the league, a solid secondary, and an elite head coach.
They also have Najee Harris and George Pickens, and now, a future Hall of Famer quarterback with a huge chip on his shoulder and a determination to prove that he’s not done yet.
They might not be Super Bowl contenders or make it that far in the playoffs, but the Steelers will be a legitimate threat next season, that’s for sure.
