The New York Yankees have been particularly secretive about injuries in the last couple of seasons, and the situation has definitely reached an extreme point in spring training.
Team captain and star player Aaron Judge appeared to have tweaked something on a swing on Sunday, but when he was taken out of the game, manager Aaron Boone said that the original plan was to have him take just two at-bats.
Then it became public that he underwent an MRI on his abdominal muscles just to be sure, and it came back clean.
People seem to be freaking out about Judge’s injury status, but the player himself is downplaying the situation.
In fact, he stated that if it was a regular-season game, he would be in the lineup, per Bryan Hoch via Talkin’ Yanks.

The plan was for Judge to take some swings on Friday and then take part in Saturday’s game.
That plan is still in place according to multiple sources, but it’s also important to point out that the toe injury he suffered last year is still a lingering issue.
It’s not a huge concern because he has shown he can manage the pain, but he will likely need to do that for the rest of his career.
The fact Judge is dealing with abdominal/injury issues on top of his problematic toe in the spring is a bit concerning, but that’s probably why the team has been so careful with him.
The goal is to preserve his health in what is shaping up to be a huge year for the organization.
