It’s the end of the road for NFL star Aaron Donald, as the Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle announced his retirement on Friday morning.
Upon this announcement, a huge outpouring of support and praise was seen all over the sports world.
That included Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant, who logged onto Twitter to wish Donald well.
“Enjoy your retirement 99. The work u put in on that gridiron is unmatched,” Durant said.

The three-time Defensive Player of the Year definitely earned a lot of fans during his years playing professional football so it’s not surprising to see others, including Durant, give him a round of applause as he exits the league.
As Donald has grown older, the idea of retirement has loomed larger so Friday’s big news wasn’t too shocking.
At just 32 years old, Donald is actually a few years younger than Durant, who turned 35 back in Septemeber.
That means that Durant too could be eyeing retirement over the next few years, which would be another major news story and massive loss for the sports world.
However, right now Durant isn’t focused on wrapping up his career, as he is instead intent on adding another championship ring to his collection.
He is averaging 28.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists for the Suns this season, while still shooting a very high 52.8% from the field.
Despite their wealth of talent, the Suns are having a hard time breaking out of the middle of the pack in the Western Conference, mostly due to injuries.
But Durant himself has stayed relatively healthy this season, which is a wonderful sign and a huge relief to fans.
It seems like Durant still has a few years left in him but seeing Donald retire on Friday morning surely reminded the Suns star that his time to walk away from the game is approaching.
