The saying “the rich get richer” exists for a reason, and it could be used to describe a recent signing the Kansas City Chiefs made in free agency.
The Chiefs and free-agent wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown were able to agree to a one-year contract worth $7 million.
Brown, who was selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens, adds a lethal amount of speed to Kansas City’s offense that the team hasn’t had since Tyreek Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2022.
On Friday, Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin shared why he thinks Brown’s arrival gives the Chiefs a “dangerous” offense heading into next season (via Undisputed on Twitter).

During his first three seasons in the NFL as a member of the Ravens, Browns caught a total of 21 touchdowns and averaged 12.1 yards per reception.
His performance dipped a bit in the last two years as a member of the Arizona Cardinals, but it’s not like he was a part of one of the best offenses either during his time in the desert.
With the Chiefs, Brown now gets to catch passes from one of the best quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes.
Kansas City has been searching for a reliable downfield threat ever since Hill was sent out the door in 2022, and Brown could potentially be the guy to fill this role.
After coming up with victories in each of the last two Super Bowls, the Chiefs will be attempting to win their third championship in a row next season, and their latest free-agent signing definitely helps their chances to accomplish this.
