It’s been a difficult past two seasons for veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, but he’s hoping that a fresh start with the Pittsburgh Steelers this year will help him get everything back on track as his NFL career inches closer to the end.
Wilson recently signed a one-year contract with the Steelers and some Pittsburgh fans are hoping he can be the answer to some of the team’s quarterback struggles in each of the last two seasons.
On Friday, the Steelers’ newest quarterback sent a quick message to the team’s passionate fan base (via the Steelers on Twitter).
“What’s up, Steeler Nation? Just signed, baby. Fired up to wear the black and gold. Here we go.”

Wilson has developed a reputation over the years for utilizing his current team’s slogan at an almost excessive rate (“Go Hawks” with the Seattle Seahawks and “Broncos Country, Let’s Ride” with the Denver Broncos).
So it’s no surprise that he’s already fully embracing Pittsburgh’s “Here We Go” slogan in his very first message to the team’s fan base.
Will Steelers fans end up getting sick of hearing this come out of Wilson’s mouth next season, or will they end up not caring whatever he says as long as he helps them get back to the playoffs for the second year in a row?
As long as the team wins and Wilson plays well, fans likely won’t care how often he says his new catchphrase.
