When NFL star Aaron Donald announced his retirement on Friday, the city of Los Angeles praised the Rams icon and celebrated his career.
One of the people bidding him well as he ventured into retirement was Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson.
On Twitter, Johnson sent a heartfelt message to Donald:
“I just want to thank Aaron Donald for bringing a Super Bowl championship to Los Angeles. I bought a suite at SoFi Stadium to watch you play on Sundays. You never disappointed and always delivered an exciting game! Enjoy your retirement, time with your family, and whatever you decide to do in the next chapter of your life!”

Donald spent 10 years in the NFL and was a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, eight-time First-Team All-Pro, 10-time Pro Bowl selection, and the 2014 Defensive Rookie of the Year.
He did great things for the Rams, which is why he meant so much to Johnson and other LA residents.
Now Donald will join Johnson and a few others as one of the most important retired Los Angeles athletes of all time.
Although Johnson has been officially retired from the NBA since 1996, he has stayed supremely busy.
He is a former part-owner of the Lakers and was the president of basketball operations for the team years ago.
He is also a part of the group that manages the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Sparks and has been involved in other sports leagues too.
If Donald wants a few pointers about how to have a very active and exciting retirement, he could get them from Johnson.
The well wishes for Donald will continue to pour in from LA sports fans so Johnson likely won’t be the last one praising the retired NFL player.
