The Chicago Bears have a new star receiver.
With Keenan Allen becoming available via trade, GM Ryan Poles made sure to get him.
Allen had spent his entire career with the Chargers organization.
Recently, he admitted that he thought he was going to retire as a Charger, but things happened, and he just had to move on (via Around the NFL).
Allen also said he was excited about the opportunity of playing for such a historic team like the Chicago Bears.
“I’m definitely excited about the new opportunity,” Allen said. Obviously wanted to finish my career [with the Chargers], but things happen and you’ve got to keep on going.”

He’s been one of the most dominant route-runners in the game for years now, but the Chargers couldn’t afford to keep him under his current contract.
They asked him to take a pay cut, and he refused, thus causing the trade.
The Chargers are going to look very different next season.
Coach Jim Harbaugh and his coaching staff are looking forward to revamping a defense that has underachieved for years, and with their salary cap situation, Allen had to be the odd man out.
The Bears are expected to be one of the most improved teams in the league next season.
They’ve made some major additions to their offense, and they’re expected to cap it off by landing Caleb Williams out of USC to become their next quarterback.
He’ll get to play alongside Allen, DJ Moore, Cole Kmet, and D’Andre Swift, plus potentially the No. 9 pick.
It’s been a long time since the Bears were a competitive team, but it seems like those woes will finally come to an end.
