The NFL cycle never stops throughout the year.
Even during the so-called offseason, a lot of activity happens.
One of which is assessing the prospects available in the annual rookie draft.
While teams have done extensive work on the players they’d like to select, decisions can change because of last-minute developments.
But for the upcoming NFL Draft, it seems like the man selected first overall is already a foregone conclusion.
Caleb Williams seems to be the consensus top overall pick among football experts, fans, and front office personnel.
The Chicago Bears might have a shot at getting the number one pick again.
If they do, they’ll be in a huge dilemma because of quarterback Justin Fields.
However, FS1’s James Jones has a clear choice between Fields and Williams.
“The last two games, give me this version of Justin Fields. And the reason why I said that is because Shady (LeSean McCoy) said quarterback play has changed, right? These quarterbacks are mobile. They can throw with the best of him. That’s him,” Jones said in a recent episode of Speak.

Fields has been lights out in Weeks 4 and 5 for the Bears.
Despite the heartbreaking loss, the former Ohio State standout had 28 completions for 335 yards and four touchdowns against the Denver Broncos.
Four days later, they got their first win in the 2023 season against the Washington Commanders.
He had 15 passes for 282 yards and four touchdowns, three to DJ Moore.
Could this be the start of a winning run for Fields and the Bears?
If it does, he’s finally playing to his potential, making him as attractive as a football talent as Williams.
