For years, Deion Sanders dominated the NFL scene like few players before him — and ever since.
He made an impact on both ends, all while juggling a career in Major League Baseball as well.
Now, one of his sons could follow his footsteps in the big league, in football at least.
Shedeur Sanders is expected to be in the mix for the No. 1 pick next season, and he could’ve been a first or a second-round pick in this year’s NFL Draft.
Deion thought it would be better for him to stay at Colorado for another season, and so he did.
Recently, talking about the impact that Chicago’s cold weather could have on Caleb Williams’ career, the legendary defender admitted that the weather is a big factor teams should consider when taking a quarterback.
He stated that Williams might struggle in the Windy City, being from California and playing only there and in Oklahoma.
As for his son, he admitted that he didn’t want him playing any place that gets really cold, as he was born and raised in Texas (via ProFootballTalk):
“Like, I don’t want my kid [Shedeur] going nowhere cold next year. He grew up in Texas. He played in Jackson, played in Colorado. Season’s over before it gets cold in Colorado. I’m just thinking way ahead. I don’t want that for him,” Sanders said.

That would rule out teams like the Baltimore Ravens, Washington Commanders, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Chicago Bears, but most of them would already have a quarterback by then.
Fortunately for him, Shedeur should still have more than enough choices and potential destinations once he’s ready to take a leap and join the pros.
