The Indianapolis Colts and Jonathan Taylor have finally made amends.
Following a drama-filled offseason, the star running back and the team have agreed on terms of a contract extension, putting an end to the doubts about his future with the organization.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the former rushing champion will sign a huge 3-year extension worth a whopping $42 million.
The #Colts and star RB Jonathan Taylor have agreed to terms on a massive 3-year, $42M extension, locking him in at the top of the RB market and mending fences after a tumultuous period. $26.5M guaranteed.

That makes him the highest-paid player in his position, and it includes $26.5 million guaranteed.
That puts an end to the last-standing contract-related drama in the league.
The market for running backs has been brutal this offseason, and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to change any time soon.
Josh Jacobs couldn’t agree on terms for a new deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, and Saquon Barkley had to settle for a one-year pact with the New York Giants.
Taylor had been looking for this deal for quite a while, and while Jim Irsay seemed unwilling to let him go, he was also hesitant to lock him up with that kind of a contract.
He’s coming off an injury-riddled season, and the fact that he entered the campaign on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list this season wasn’t encouraging, but the team decided to put all that aside to put an end to this story.
Now, he’ll join exciting rookie QB Anthony Richardson in the backfield, and they could have one of the most explosive and entertaining offensive duos in the league for years to come.
They’ll be fun to watch.
