The Philadelphia Eagles were among the best teams in the NFL through 11 weeks in the 2023 season.
They started off hot, going 10-1, but the tides quickly turned for this team just one year after being the NFC’s representative in the Super Bowl.
While they did make the playoffs after a colossal collapse in the regular season, they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round.
This was frustrating for this team, given their track record over the past several seasons.
As the Eagles headed into the offseason, fans felt a sense that this team was slated to undergo significant changes in 2024.
This was all but confirmed by Jeremy Fowler’s recent report, who indicated that the Eagles are pushing back Haason Reddick’s roster bonus to April 1st.
The #Eagles are moving Haason Riddick’s $1M roster bonus, originally due March 15, to April 1, per sources.
This in theory buys Philly time for a potential trade before having to pay the money.

As he mentions, this is an opportunity for the Eagles to test the trade market even further, hoping not to pay him the $1 million before April 1st.
Reddick has been a great contributor for the Eagles on the defensive side of the ball, but if they’re trying to save money, he could be an offseason causality.
The Eagles’ front office is viewed as one of the best in the league, and they are seemingly masterminds at manipulating the salary cap.
However, if they don’t see a path forward with Reddick, it might be time for them to cut their losses and move on, hoping to get some return compensation for him in a trade.
Now that this information is out there, it will be interesting to see how both sides move forward.
