The 2024 MLB season is finally about to start.
After a particularly long winter and spring, the calendar dictates that just in a few hours, the Los Angeles Dodgers will be facing the San Diego Padres in Korea as part of the Seoul Series.
Then, a little over a week from now on March 28, the rest of the teams will have a much-awaited Opening Day.
As we head into the action, it’s time to see and analyze the first official MLB Power Rankings of the season.
It’s an exercise that allows readers to have an idea of the best and worst squads entering the new campaign.
The Atlanta Braves, who won 104 games last year and managed to improve their roster in the offseason, are ranked first, per MLB on Twitter.
Then we have the Los Angeles Dodgers, who spent more than a billion dollars to get a lot of impact players.
The best-ranked organization in the American League?
The Baltimore Orioles.

Considering they finished the 2021 season with a horrible 52-110 record, seeing them lead the pack in the junior circuit just three years later was almost impossible.
Credit to them for putting together an amazing collection of young talent, headlined by 2023 AL Rookie of the Year Gunnar Henderson and a myriad of skilled performers and stars: Adley Rutschman, Coby Mayo, Colton Cowser, Heston Kjerstad, Kyle Bradish, Grayson Rodriguez, and Jordan Westburg are just some of them.
On top of all things, they identified that they needed an ace, so they used some of their incredible prospect depth and got Corbin Burnes from the Milwaukee Brewers.
Baltimore won 101 games last year, but they are so good that they could approach 105 in 2024.
