There are plenty of rumors lately that a fourth quarterback could move into the top five of the 2024 draft, and with so many QB-needy teams picking between No. 6 and No. 12, we could see a team make a big trade to move up, likely for Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy.
The first three picks have been projected to be quarterbacks Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels for quite some time, but McCarthy’s move up the mock drafts has been recent and drastic.
Former NFL GM Mike Lombardi went on “The Pat McAfee Show” today and said that the Minnesota Vikings are a team to watch, saying: “I think Minnesota is still deciding which QB they want and where they need to move up to.”

Minnesota lost veteran Kirk Cousins to the Atlanta Falcons this offseason and signed Sam Darnold to a one-year, $10 million deal to serve as a potential replacement.
The Vikings are armed with the 11th pick and the 23rd pick in the first round, which is plenty of ammo to go up and get their guy if they decide they love a certain quarterback.
The New York Giants have the sixth pick and appear to be in the market for a QB, and with the Los Angeles Chargers not needing a quarterback at pick No. 5, LA could be the most sensible spot for a team to trade up to get in front of the Giants.
The Washington Commanders at No. 2 and the New England Patriots at No. 3 have the option to move down, but both teams appear locked and loaded to bring in their high-profile rookies.
