Earlier this month, the Cleveland Browns decided to address the receiving corps, agreeing to a trade with the Denver Broncos to acquire 24-year-old wide receiver Jerry Jeudy.
Although Jeudy didn’t exactly live up to expectations of a first-round pick while with the Broncos, he is still considered to be a player with a high upside, and a change of scenery might be exactly what is needed for him to reach his true potential in the NFL.
As a result of Jeudy still having an upside with the possibility of flourishing with another team, the Browns sent two draft picks to the Broncos in exchange for the University of Alabama product.
As if using two picks in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft wasn’t enough of a sign that the Browns have confidence in Jeudy’s ability to be a game-changer in Cleveland, the team has now also agreed to a contract extension with the young wideout.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Browns have signed Jeudy to a three-year contract extension, with $41 million guaranteed.
The #Browns and WR @jerryjeudy have agreed to a three-year contract extension worth up to $58 million, including $41 million fully guaranteed at signing, per me and @TomPelissero.

The addition of Jeudy adds another weapon downfield for star quarterback Deshaun Watson and creates potentially one of the best wide receiver duos in the game, as he’ll share the field with veteran star Amari Cooper.
In 16 games last season for the Broncos, Jeudy caught 54 passes for 758 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Although those numbers aren’t all that impressive, the 24-year-old wideout will benefit from Cooper’s presence on the field, as he can expect single coverage most of the time and will likely see a boost in his numbers with Watson under center in Cleveland.
