Bears fans are clearly having a tough time moving on from quarterback Justin Fields, who was recently traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers to back up Russell Wilson for a sixth-round pick in 2025.
The move was done to clear the path for projected No. 1 pick Caleb Williams to come in and be the franchise savior, but it doesn’t change the fact that many fans still believed in Fields and didn’t sign up for this timeline.
To commemorate Fields’ time in Chicago, fans have put together a petition to force the Bears to honor Fields with a patch on their jerseys next season.

At the time of this article, the petition only has 24 signatures, which probably isn’t enough to move the needle, but if any Bears fans want to add their name to the list they are more than welcome to do so.
Williams has been criticized heavily over the past few months, as most eccentric projected No. 1 picks are, but a large amount of Bears fans believed Fields’ struggles were more due to the coaching staff and the lack of weapons.
Williams will be stepping into a much better situation, as the team has been loaded with cap space, has a revamped defense, just traded for star receiver Keenan Allen, and still has the No. 9 pick in the draft as well as plenty of other draft capital.
It’s unclear how many signatures are needed to get that patch on the jerseys to honor Fields, but it’s probably a lot more than 24.
