Ever since he took over as head coach of the Miami Dolphins, the franchise has never been the same as Mike McDaniel has seemingly been exactly what this team has needed to get back on track as a legitimate title contender in the AFC.
Along with being a football savant of sorts, McDaniel has won over his players with his personality and being a players coach, which has resulted in Miami being one of the most promising young teams in the league.
Not only does McDaniel own the Dolphins locker room right now with his personality and attitude, but he might also be winning over players entering the league this year through the 2024 NFL Draft, which will get underway on April 25.
A funny interaction between McDaniel and the former University of Texas star wide receiver Xavier Worthy was seen recently when the Dolphins head coach asked the wideout why he didn’t run the 40 that day via Dov Kleiman.
“I didn’t wanna break the record too much,” Worthy said.
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel asked Xavier Worthy why he’s not running the 40 today. Worthy’s response:
“I didn’t wanna break the record too much.”

Worthy recently showed off his lightning-quick speed by breaking the record set by wide receiver John Ross as he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.21 seconds.
With the Dolphins already having one of the fastest players in the league in superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill, McDaniel might be intrigued by the prospect of adding Worthy into the mix, making it nearly impossible for opposing defenses to keep up with his wide receivers.
The Dolphins currently own the No. 21 overall pick in the upcoming draft, which is right around when Worthy is expected to be taken in some mock drafts, but it is uncertain if the team would address the wide receiver position with Hill and Jaylen Waddle already in the fold.
