The Arizona Cardinals are in a tough spot right now.
They have a potential game-changing prospect available at No. 4, but they also know they’re not just one piece away from being a contender.
That means they could and should use that first-round pick to address more of their many areas of need.
With that in mind, GM Monti Ossenfort made it loud and clear that he’s more than willing to engage in trade talks for that selection (via Ian Rapoport):
“There will be a big neon sign that says ‘open’ and I don’t like it blinking, it messes with my eyes, but we’re always going to be listening,” Ossenfort said.

The Cardinals could use the pick to get Marvin Harrison Jr., a guy who looks like a can’t-miss prospect at the wide receiver position, and who could instantly become Kyler Murray’s favorite weapon in the passing game.
Then again, there will be a plethora of teams looking to get their hands on him, while others look to move up to make sure to get a franchise quarterback as well.
Under Jonathan Gannon, the Cardinals showed signs of promise and even managed to compete when Murray was out with injuries, but it became evident that they wouldn’t necessarily be a contender.
They’re far behind in their divisional race, and that will be the case for a while now.
They will have a tough decision to make, but that’s the best problem a team could possibly have at this time of the year.
So, all teams should be working overtime and picking up the phone to make sure to get this No. 4 selection, regardless of what they have to give up to get it.
