The consensus heading into the 2024 NFL Draft as of right now, with four weeks to go until the Chicago Bears are on the clock at No. 1 overall, is that there’s only a handful of quarterbacks that could turn into stars on the NFL level.
Last year, the draft was top-heavy with quarterbacks with Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson, and Will Levis being the cream of the crop and all of them turned out to be first-year starters, with Stroud looking like a bonafide superstar for the Houston Texans.
This year, Caleb Williams is the star attraction who is expected to go No. 1 to the Bears, while Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, J.J. McCarthy, Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix are all expected to be taken in the first two rounds.
However, the order in which these talented young quarterbacks will be taken off the board is up for debate, but Nix is trying to make his case as he talks about how tough it was at the University of Oregon with so much turnover at offensive coordinator and head coach via The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
“I’ve had five different (offensive) coordinators and three different head coaches,” Nix said. “So every year, it was a new offense.”

That’s a challenging situation for any young quarterback, especially on the college level, where coaches and coordinators seem to have more leeway compared to the cutthroat approach in the NFL.
However, it remains to be seen if this helps Nix’s draft position or if he’s still expected to land somewhere in the second round, as many mock drafts suggest.
