It had been a while since the New York Jets were at the forefront of the news cycle.
The ever-struggling franchise hadn’t been a contender or even expected to make the playoffs for quite a while, but it all changed when they traded for Aaron Rodgers.
Of course, we all know how things turned out in his first campaign with the organization, and to say that the fans were a bit disappointed would be a massive understatement.
There was a lot of noise around the team.
They were featured on Hard Knocks, Rodgers claimed that he would make history by returning later in the season, Zach Wilson struggled again, and then, some reports about Rodgers’ influence on the team’s decision-making created a bit of mayhem within the organization.
That’s why HC Robert Saleh hopes there won’t be that much noise in 2024.
Talking to Steve Wyche of the NFL Network, Saleh admitted that last year was ‘a little loud,’ adding that they will welcome a little bit of quietness going forward (via Ian Rapoport):
“I think (general manager) Joe (Douglas) has done a really nice job adding some really cool pieces to the football team, but, yeah, quiet,” Saleh said. “Last year was a little loud. We welcome a little bit of quietness.”

The Jets have to be all about business.
All the outside noise needs to stay outside of the locker room, as there’s just too much at stake this time.
This could be the end of the line for Saleh, OC Nathaniel Hackett, and GM Joe Douglas if the team doesn’t live up to the expectations.
And while there’s no reason to think that’ll be the case again in 2024, this franchise hasn’t exactly been fortunate throughout the course of the year, so they won’t want to leave anything to chance.
